Mint Tea / Pudina ki Chai

Tea/Chai is one of the common beverage in all household on a daily basis. This chai recipe will not only refreshes you but also does wonders to your mood in summers.
Mint Tea, has become my favourite now. A friend of mine springed up this idea in my mind and i immediately tried it. Trust me it was super refreshing and my head was like suddenly springing up....like the center fresh ad.

Apart from this, mint has numerous benefits when consumed. Not necessary that it has to be consumed in form of chutney, thuvayal, smoothie, kozhambu etc, but also few leaves everyday in the form of tea is going to add up to good health.

Lets see how to make this refreshing tea.

Ingredients :

Pudhina Leaves - 6-8 leaves
Milk - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Tea Leaves/powder - 2 tsp (OR) Tea Bags - 2
Sugar / Honey - 1 tbsp

Method 1 :

1. Wash the mint leaves. In a tea bowl, add water and mint leaves
2. Let it boil for 2 minutes, the water will start turning into mild green colour. It means the flavour of pudhina is getting infused

3. Now add the leaves and give it a quick boil

4. Time to add milk and allow it to boil on a low flame
5. Strain it to a cup, add sugar and serve hot with tea time biscuits

Method 2 :

If you want to have it like black tea or green tea, here is the procedure for that

1. If using tea bags, then put off the burner after infusing mint in the water. Dip the tea bags for 2-3 minutes and close it with a lid
2. You can either add milk to it or have it as such with a spoon of honey or plain. If you add milk it becomes the Indian Chai. Some people prefer less milk or no milk, less sugar or more sugar. So it all depends on the taste and how want your chai to be.
