Thengulal muukku
I would always wonder how this name had come "thengulal murukku" in tamil "Thean"in tamil is honey but this murukku is savory....... For diwali this is the most common Savory done by all in Tamil-Nadu. As kids we had had enjoyed eating this , its our responsibility to take forward for our next generation.
Method:
Mix the rice flour, urud dhal , jeera,salt, asafotedia(hing) and mix well. Now add butter/oil and water to make a soft dough (un like chapatthi dough)
Heat the oil for frying
No fill the murukku press (muukku acchuu) and press it in the oil for deep frying. Take it out once it changes colour .
Note
Urud dhal flour and rice flour should be fine powder
Once you have made the dough try to make murukku quickly in badges.
You can also use sesame seed instead of jeera .

- fried urud dhal flour 1/2 cup
- asafotedia--1 tsp
- jeera 1 tsp
- melted butter or hot oil- 5-6 tbsp
- oil- for frying
- salt for tast
