Mint sambar is my grandmas recipe , its one of my favorite recipe of her.
Its simple and refreshing sambar because of its mint in it.
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh mint roughly chopped
1/2 cup boiled and mashed toor dal(lentil)
lemon sized tamarind juice
2 cups of water
3 tbsp of sambar powder
tempering:
1 tbsp of oil
1 tsp of mustard seeds
1 tsp of coriander seeds
1 tsp of methi seeds
2 tsp of hing
Method:

Method:
- Boil and mash the lentil (boil the lentil in a cooker with 1/2 cup of lentil and 2 cups of water)
- Squeeze the tamarind juice.
- Add 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and add the tempering.Now add the mint leaves and saute for 1/2 minute.
- Now add the tamarind juice and water and cook for l minute.
- Tip in the sambar powder cook for a minute.
- Now add the lentil and cook for 2-3 minutes till it gets thicker.
- Serve with hot rice and papadams.
