 This is my hubby 's favourite dish,  that too he wants classic masaal dosa, if I make different kind of stuff he wouldnt like it. I like capsicum masaal to be stuffed in the dosa, but he doesnt like those.Though its a long process its good and delicious.All the restaurants in India has this dosa.



Ingredients:
2 cups of dosa dough
1 1/2 cup of mashed potato
1 cup of chopped onion
1 tsp of finely chopped ginger
2 green chilli
1/2 tsp of mustard
1 tsp of gram dhal
1 tsp of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp of hing
2 tsp of oil


For making Dosa:

 Soak overnight 4 cups of idli rice, 1 cup of urud dhal, 1 tsp of methi seeds. Grind this in the  wetgrinder , first grind urud dhal adding water little in between to a fine batter. Then grind the rice+ methi seeds to fine batter consistency(if you touch it it should be fine paste) then mix both and add salt to it and ferment it.



Method for making the filling or potato masaal:

  •  Heat the kadai or pan  add oil now add mustard.
  • Once the mustard splatterd  tip in ginger, slit chilli.Now add onion cook till it is soft.
  • Tip in turmeric powder, hing,salt.
  • Add the mashed potato , stir well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.See to it that it doesnt burnt.

You can sprinkle water and cook , but dont add more water it will become watery.





  1. Heat the crepe pan and spread one ladle of dosa dough. Spray some olive oil/ canola oil.Cook till it turns light brown.
  2. Now flip and cook the other side .
  3. Flip it again and add a spoonful of the potato massla  to one end and close the dosa.
  4. Serve hot with sambar and chutneys.
