Lettuce veg Sandwich is a quick preparation, especially if you are looking out for healthy breakfast to grab while running to work. I had a huge sized, really huge fresh lettuce from the market. I love 'em in my burgers. gives the crunchy texture inside the burger. Also I like to have them plain. Quite weird, huh ?? It's okay !!
Anyways this Saves a lot of time if you just have bread, cucumber, tomatoes & lettuce. I have used whole wheat bread here, you can use sandwich bread or maida bread or whichever you like. So lets see how to go about making this.
Ingredients :
Bread : 8 loaves (toast it slightly if you like crunchy sandwich)
Butter : for spreading inside & outside
Lettuce leaves : chop it or just tear it into half & spread on the bread
Cheese spread or mayonnaise : spread on the insides of the bread for flavor
Cucumber & tomato : sliced
Salt & pepper
Chilly paste : optional
Method :
1. Toast the bread on a tawa, on a medium flame.
2. Spread the flavored or plain mayo/butter & arrange the lettuce leaves. Top it with cucumbers, tomatoes.
3. Sprinkle some salt & pepper. You can add salt, pepper & chilly paste directly or add them to the mayo or butter, mix well & then spread on the butter.
4. Arrange all on top of each other & close with another toasted bread.
5. Some butter can also be applied on top of the upper bread, its optional. I like it this way. Simple & nutritious.
6. You can also add veggies of your choice. Serve with tomato ketchup.
Sometimes this recipe helps when I am lazy :D
Divi !!
