Idly fry / crispy idli fry in sauce

 Idli is a Indian rice cakes made out of grinded rice and urud dhal (lentil) . Its cooked in a steamer , and good for health, but most of the don't like it as its kind of bland food , so to make it intresting I  fried it and made a sauce so that kids will like it.
                                   
Ingredients:
 8 idlis
  1-2 tsp of paprika powder
  caonla oil spray
  1 tsp of fennel seeds
 1 onion chopped
 1/4 cup chopped capsicum
 1 potato chopped
 2 chopped tomatoes
 1 tsp of ginger- garlic paste
 1 tsp of dhaniya powder
 1 tsp of garam masala powder
 1/2 cup of water
  2 tsp of tomato sauce
 salt to taste
 1 tbsp of oil


Method:

  •   Cut the idlis to small cubes and smear it with oil and paprika powder and either deep fry or bake it  in the oven
  • Preheat the oven for 15 mins at 200deg. bake the cut idlis  for 10 mins at 200deg.
  •                         








      Cool the fried idlis in a bowl .
         


  • Now heat the 1 tbsp of oil add fennel seeds , spluttered add the chopped onion, cook till translucent.
  • Now add the ginger- garlic paste  cook till a minute, tip in tomatoes and cook till  raw smell disappears.add salt .
  • Now tip in masala cook well for a minute, stirring.
  • Now add the veggies and , add 1/2cup of water to it,cook well till its soft.
  • Tip in the baked idlis/ deep fried idlis and toss it well.
  •    
  • Serve with tomato sauce.
