Its Me Dhivya, back after a short break. And this is my first post after wedding. I wanted to make something healthy yet yummy for my husband and my father-in-law who was visiting us that week. So, in a jiffy i grabbed the lentils I had in store and soaked them in proportion. Blended it in a mixie after 6 hours.
VIOLA !! this can be a quick breakfast/dinner on your platter.
Lets get to the recipe.
Ingredients :
Rice - 1 cup (i used the normal cooking rice)
Black urad dal - 1/2 cup
Toor dal - 1/2 cup
Masoor Dal - 1/2 cup
Chickpeas - 1/4 cup
Oats - 1/4 cup
Red Chillies - 10 (i have used a mix of Kashmiri red chillies & lal mirch - hot variety. You can adjust spice levels acc to your taste)
Ginger - 1 inch stick
Oil - For making dosa/crepes
Water - required to make dosa/crepes
Salt - To taste
Method :
1. Wash and soak the lentils for 5-6 hours prior.
2. Drain the water and add one by one to the blender and grind it slightly coarsely. Now add ginger, powdered oats, salt and required water, grind it further to Adai batter consistency (slightly thick).
3. Rest the batter for 30 minutes.
4. Heat the pan, add some oil and pour a ladle full of batter & spread it thick. Cook it for a minute in a medium flame and flip it. Give it 1 more minute to cook & remove from flame.
5. Serve it HOT with a chutney of your choice/ gur/ butter & sugar.
Variations :
You can also add curry leaves, coriander, onion, garlic while grinding.
