Beerakaya /Pirkankai thuvayal/Ridge gourd chutney

Ridge gourd/Loofa is a tropical plant( a climber) and its consumed when its green, its highly fibrous. Its a common vegetable in India and cooked as  chutney, kootu, or deep fried fritters.

As I had a small veggie garden, was very eager to grow loofa, as I love loofa chutney/thuvayyal, but had to wait for spring ,as the plant is tropical  it requires more sun, was happy when I saw my first loofa in my garden, long bright green.
