Milakai Bhaji/Chilli fritters

Milagai bhaji , its famous street snack especially , it isnt any time consuming process though . This chilli is a long green often mentioned as Ooty chilli/ Bhajji milaga  which is less spicy, we can make as usual like onion bhaji or with stuffed potatoes in chilli and dip in the  besan & rice flour mix and deep fry in  oil. This i a scrumptious evening snack for the kids.

Igredients:

4 bhaji milaga/green long chilli
1/2 cup besan flour
1/4 cup rice flour
1 tbsp of corn flour
1/2 tsp red chilli powder(according to your taste buds)
1/4 tsp of amaetur powder
1 tbsp of hot oil
pinch of asafotedia/hing
salt to taste
oil for deep frying
     
                       




Method:


  • Slit the chilli vertically and scrap the seeds , I actually cut them into two halves horizontally.
  •                                       
  • In a bowl combine all the dry ingredients well(besan flour, rice flour, chilli powder,salt,corn flour, asafotedia, amaetur powder and salt)
  • Add 1 tbsp of hot oil and 1/2 cup of water little by little  and mix well without lumps, batter should neither be too thick nor runny.
  • Heat the oil for frying
  • Now dip in the milaga/chilli into the batter and gently drop it in oil
  • Fry until brown and serve with chutney.
