Sabudhana vada is a maharastrian snacks and I like this very much especially my son. My son is a fussy eater , I was pleased that he liked this snacks, so we used to do it often. This is it made with sagoo, potatoes some spices and deep fried.But the flipside of this vada is it consumes more oil. It is crunchy outside and soft inside.
Ingredients
Sagoo 1 cup
Mashed potato 1 1/2 cup
1 tbsp of rice flour
1/2 cup peanuts
1 tsp of lime juice
2 green chilies
1 tsp of ginger
1 tsp of cumin seeds
salt to taste
few coriander leaves
Method:
- First soak the sagoo for 2 - 3 hours. IF the sagoo is small then 25 minutes of soaking is sufficient. If the sagoo is bigger then you need 2 - 3 hours of soaking.
- Drain the water .
- Boil and mash the potatoes .
- Roast the peanut and grind it into a coarse powder.
- Combine potaotes, sagoo,cumin seeds,chillies(cut), grated ginger,peanut powder,lemon juice,salt and make it patties.
- if the patties are breaking then add the flour.
- Now deep fry the patties and serve with chutney.
