Mango chutney


Mango chutney is east to make to preapare and its good accompaniments for idli, roti, spreads for burgers, sandwiches. If you want a tangy taste you can choose semi ripened mangoes .
cooking time 5 minutes preparation time: 5 mins
serves: 4

Ingredients:
 1 green mango
 2-3 shallots
 1 tsp of grated ginger
 2 tsp of urud dhal
 2 green chilli
 1 tsp of cumin
 2 tsp of oil
 salt to taste

Tempering:
1tsp of oil
1 tsp of mustard

Method:

  • Grate the mango 
  • Heat oil add urud dhal, fry it till brown.
  • add shallots , ginger, chilli, cumin . Cook for a minute then add grated mango and just toss it.
  • Now cool it and grind it.
  • Add the tempering.

    serve with dosa, idli or it can be used as spread.
