Cabbage Pakoras

If you are looking for Zero size or weight loss program , CABBAGE soup is said to be  oldest way of weight loss program .First I tasted cabbage pakoras when I was living in bangalore , from then I wanna try my hand on it, beleive its really crunchy and good, lets make it!!
                   


Ingredients:

1 cup of shredded cabbage
1/2 chopper onion
1 tbsp of hot oil
1 cup of besan flour
 1/2 cup of rice flour
1 tsp of ginger paste
2 tsp of chilli flakes( according to their taste)
2 sprigs of curry leaves
salt to taste
pinch of hing powder
oil for deep frying


Method:

  • Shred the cabbage .
  • In a bowl combine cabbage, onion, salt, hing, salt, Add 1 tbsp of oil , combine well , rest it for 20 minutes
  •           
  • By now it would started oozing water,  tip in ginger paste, chilli flakes.
  • Roughly tear the curry leaves add it to cabbage.
  • Tip in  1/2 cup besan flour , 1/4 cup of rice flour  mix it well , if it still watery add the remaining besan flour  and 1 tbsp of rice flour and make it a ball.
  • Heat oil for frying.
  • Drop the cabbage mixture in small balls , fry it in batches.
  • Deep fry till its  brown an serve with chutney or sauce.
