Vazlaipoo/ banana flower is believed to have medicinal values , such as helps with lowering or reduces menstrual overflow .Its a easily available in South Indian markets , though time consuming to clean the flower its worth cooking.
Ingredients:
1 banana flower
1/2 toor dhal
2-3 red chillies( depending on its HOT)
1/2 tsp of hing
1/2 chopped onion
2 small garlic pods
1/2 tsp of saunf
2 sprigs of curry leaves
salt to taste

Method:
- Soak the toor dhal with chillies in water for 1 hour.
- First clean the banana flower by removing it from the red pod and chop it finely.
- Grind the toor dhal,chilli, chopped onion, salt to a paste consistency.
- Combine grinded paste, banana flower, saunf, curry leaves an knead well.
- Heat oil in a kadai, scoop the banana mixture , make it as patties and fry it in deep oil.
- Fry it till crisp and brown, serve it hot with coconut chutney.
